Overcoming your Failures

Last week I wrote about how to overcome procrastination by showing up and being professional. And let me tell you, it’s not easy! But by being consistent, you will get better at it.

I want to share my own experience with you about my last painting, which I didn’t even share it on social media. Because it was a failure for me! Because I hated it!!

I was painting for the whole day and the result didn’t come out the way I expected. I was frustrated and tired at the end of the day.

What should I do after? Should I stop painting assuming that I can’t make it work?

Should I get mad at myself and everything around me? Should I give up?

I think these negative reactions are the easiest ways of responding to our failures. But is this negativity good for our mental health? Does it help us to improve as creative souls?

Of course not.

On any level of skills and knowledge you always face with these moments of frustrations. The key is not to give up, to stand up after any fall and keep going. It sounds too cliche but believe me it’s true. Don’t let your negative thoughts stop you from your dreams. Listen to other successful people’s stories and see how they overcome their obstacles in their lives and keep going.

Yes, and sometimes you need to pause and do nothing. And it’s absolutely fine and needed. BUT NOT TOO LONG THOUGH!!

Back to our subject about failure: social media can be overwhelming sometimes but you also can find good resources based on your interest.

Recently I am listening to a podcast called “Learn to Paint Podcast”, where I get a chance to listen to other artists’ habits, mindsets and struggles. I feel, I am not alone in this field dealing with fears and not being good enough. And more than ever I believe, no matter what, making time and showing up is the key to your growth.

Going back to my recent failure story, stay tuned for a new painting video, on which I am going to work on the same subject again with a different approach. ;)

Do you have any story about your approach to your failures, share them on the comment section below.

Always Create!❤️
